Deborah just dropped off a whole bunch of baby stuff. A matching stroller and car seat! A thing you stick the baby in and they can stagger around on their own! Other things I don't know the name of! Whew!
I found a beautiful nursery example on the Pottery Barn website. It would be good for either a boy or girl and is very elegant and simple. I think it's going to be a whole barrel of fun to decorate this nursery. Since the baby is probably going to get the bigger bedroom there will also be plenty of scope. One problem. Does one paint or change the floors first? It seems one would paint first so as to protect the new floors, but if you're replacing carpet with a hard floor wouldn't that mean you couldn't paint some of the spots on the baseboard as well if the carpet is still there? I'd love some feedback on this.
Writing group last Tuesday. We were planning the next one and were going to have it on the 20th until Nancy remembered that's Inauguration Day and she practically hyperventilated at the thought of missing any of it. Mom and Brett are actually going to be there. I envy them. I'm sure there's going to be an incredible vibe in the city. One of those places-to-be. In other words, when you're there you know you're at the one place to be in the world at that moment. Those times don't happen very often in life. I've had one, which I cherish: Berlin, New Year's Eve, the year the Wall came down. I'm sure the opening ceremony in Beijing was another one of those times.
I didn't mean to imply we'd actually decorate the nursery in Pottery Barn. That would be way out of the budget. But the inspiration comes from that picture. If I could figure out how to put a picture in this blog I could show you. Maybe Wren can help me out.
