There's a real chill in the studio. Last night I woke up a couple of times from the cold. There was a party at 9 in the resident lounge, but I didn't go. I had laid down on the bed and by the time 9 rolled around I was too tired. I get up early enough it's hard to go to bed late.
I worked on AUDRA PHIPPS some yesterday. It still feels like snowshoeing through the wilderness trying to create scenes for that thing. Having to blaze a fresh, unfamiliar trail. I enjoy the light humor of it but I'm still uncertain of the plot. I might have to work that out in an outline to give myself a direction.
Last night I reread a short story I wrote called "Love for Real." It was based on the Everlast song of the same name. It really goes with the song; I like it. I was trying to decide what to bring to the next critique group and thought I might bring it. I'll either bring that or the beginning of AUDRA.
Hurricane Ike has hit Texas. Galveston is under water.
